KISHORE MAHBUBANI: A VISION OF REALISTIC OPTIMISM

Deriding excessive pessimism, of the sort proposed in the late Sam Huntington’s ‘Clash of Civilizations,” Dean Kishore Mahbubani of the highly respected Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy lays out a vision of world order that projects a measure of reality-based optimism.  In his sweeping new book “THE GREAT CONVERGENCE,” Singapore’s former ambassador to the United Nations shows how technology. communications and culture are bringing civilizations closer together. His provocative thesis will be laid out at Loyola Marymount University Thursday 28 Feb. Come as our guests and be intellectually stimulated by one of Asia’s most penetrating and provocative thinkers. The time is 6-8pm, and the venue is the Von Der Ahe Suite on the third floor of the gleaming William Hannon Library (#322).  For further information email asiamedia.lmu@gmail.com (The poster art is the excellent work of the young but talented Andreas A.
