SOE Student LaRon Armstead is Profiled in the Los Angeles Times

Despite growing up amid gangs and drugs in South Central Los Angeles, LaRon Armstead – now a graduate student in the LMU School of Education – escaped this life and worked hard to beat the odds and become a student-athlete at LMU. He played on the men’s basketball team.

LaRon Armstead-webAfter earning his bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2012, LaRon could have continued playing basketball professionally, but instead chose to further his education by pursuing a master’s degree in counseling from the School of Education.
